Open Letter to All My Government Employee’s
Dear Government Representatives and workers,
I’m sick and tired of listening to each and every proposal made by you concerning the country’s deficit reduction or fiscal cliff start off with reductions in Social Security, Medicare or more tax revenue.
The fact is, the government is employed by private sector, and we are the ones paying your salaries, the entire cost of your pensions and a hefty share of your benefits including your lavish heath care coverage. Those pensions alone represent 22% of the current budget; it’s time to lead the way by showing how to make the right sacrifices for the benefit of the country. Remember John F. Kennedy’s famous words, “Tis not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”
If we had a single “leader” anywhere in the government; which is presumed to be, by the people and for the people, the conversation about deficit reduction and/or fiscal cliff would have started here, at the excessive government wages, pensions, and benefits currently being enjoyed by the Good Ole Boys/Girls in congress that are supposed to be working for the people, not for themselves. Somewhere along the line of congressional representatives concluded that their positions in the government made them entrepreneurs whose agenda was their own personal wealth rather than the civil servants they were elected to be.
Instead of asking the taxpaying private sector to surrender either time (raising the age to collect Social Security, or money (by reducing our Social Security pay); which is peanuts in comparison to governments pensions by the way, the conversation should start at the public sector.
I propose the actual reduction starting point start by shifting ALL of the current commitments made to government pensions that are paid for by the taxpayer’s, be redirected back into the Social Security System; which Congress was designed to incorporate ALL of us. Once all the money is back in the Social Security fund no government official or worker should be eligible to receive more than whatever the Social Security System allows at the present time.
Now this is what paying your “Fair Share” is all about and don’t even start telling us how illegal that idea is because we remember all the other illegal things that this government has done without blinking an eye over the last several years, such as Delphi, when their pensions were reduced to 70%in favor of making good on all the General Motor union workers pensions at 100%.
No politician or other government employee deserves any more than the rest of the people in the private sector that they’re working for, remember, our goal is that everybody pay their “Fair Share” and our employees are currently enjoying higher wages, healthcare, and pensions than their employers in the private sector. It’s time for the government employees to pay their own way to retirement like the rest of us do so completely defund all government pensions including those in high offices such as Senators, Congress, and yes the President , everyone.
That’s just for starters; next let’s end the funding for the lavish health care that is currently being extended to all government employees including all elected officials. In the real world, employers are dropping their health care coverage in favor of the governments Affordable Care Act. The people demand the same, let’s stop funding the expensive alternatives and force the government employees to make their own choice like the people have had to make, either go into the government Affordable Care Act pool or pay for whatever you like yourself without taxpayers money, defund all medical insurance it’s cheaper on the taxpayers to just pay the fine, just like corporate America has decided.
After 236 years of independence from the King George we shouldn’t be expected to tote the line of King Obama either. It should be understood by now that nobody not even the President is above the people and every government official whether elected, appointed or simply employed should not place themselves above the rules. The government has spent so much of the taxpayer’s time and money on creating these laws it wouldn’t be cost effective to now expect the taxpayers to pay for both and it’s only fair that everybody share the wealth that Obama claims to be redistributing.
A good rule of thumb is; any legislation that’s good enough for the people is good enough for the people’s employees. In other words, whatever legislation our legislators create they must also live by, no more double standards. One for all and all for one!
If Social Security is good enough for the people then it’s good enough for our employee as well, and if the Affordable Care Act is a gift from King Obama, then all the people’s employees should welcome the opportunity to move into the pool they have built, or chose to simply pay for their own ultra-coverage.
One more little detail, reduce every government paid employee’s pay by 10%, freeze wages until the budget is balanced and the deficit cut to a manageable figure and until the fiscal cliff and deficit is properly addressed place all government workers’ on temporary unpaid leave.
It’s time for our employees in Congress to defund all those expensive luxurious salaries, pensions, and healthcare benefits currently being enjoyed by our employees. Tell your Congressional representatives that we can no longer afford these expensive luxuries they currently enjoy before they attempt to further reduce your standard of living so they can satisfy their expensive high-roller lifestyle.
Boycott Picture Identification
One sure way to confirm that our government is being run by Leftist Democrats, every time you hear an issue ask yourself a question, is the government protecting the American citizens or are they protecting those who crossed over the border avoiding the legal process?
What American citizen doesn’t have a picture ID? You mean that you don’t have to identify yourself under any circumstance? This means that identification is no longer required and I am ready to call for a boycott. Let’s all put our ID’s thru the shredder! If the illegals don’t have to identify themselves neither do the legal citizens. Obama and his administration is always calling for “fairness” so, what’s fair is fair, no more picture ID’s.
If you get pulled over or involved in an accident just claim to be an undocumented citizen and you’ve been here for years, depending on your age of course. Hey, if it’s OK for illegals not to prove who they are then the rules must be fair across the board, right?
It’s time to call the government out on this ridiculous notions that legal citizens would be hurt more the illegals? They claim that illegal voting is insignificant. How do they determine that if they have no legal way of identification? Boycott your identification, refuse to identify yourself.
